About the race
The race.
The Mammoth Cave 50K/25K trail race takes place October 24, 2026, in Park City, Kentucky, at Mammoth Cave National Park. Both distances start at 7:00 AM from Bell's Tavern Pavilion and are subject to an 8-hour cutoff with a 3:00 PM finish-line wind-down. The out-and-back course follows the crushed gravel Bike & Hike Trail through wooded park terrain. Registration is capped at 150 runners due to National Park restrictions, with allocation between distances adjusted based on demand. Aid stations provide water, sports drink, and snacks; runners must bring their own cups or hydration vessels. This is the sixth running of the event.
