About the race
The race.
This introduction to outdoor rock-climbing trip takes place September 4–7, 2026, in Mammoth Lakes, California. Participants depart from Coronado/San Diego on Friday, September 4, travel approximately eight hours to the campground, and set up camp. Saturday, September 5, features a full day of climbing instruction and climbing at a local climbing area. Sunday, September 6, includes breakfast, packing, a local hike, and town exploration. The group departs Monday, September 7, for the return drive to Coronado/San Diego. Camping, climbing, and hiking gear is provided. Participation is restricted to Active Duty military personnel in the E1–E6 pay grades. A detailed packing list will be sent via email.
