Marsh Madness 2026

The race.

Marsh Madness is a 32-hour ultramarathon held August 7–8, 2026, at Point Mouillee State Game Area in South Rockwood, Michigan. The race starts at 6 a.m. on August 7th and finishes at 2 p.m. on August 8th with no cutoff times. Runners complete alternating loops of 8 miles and 4.6 miles during daylight hours, switching to a 4-mile loop between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. The course consists of 80% gravel and 20% asphalt with 69 feet of elevation gain per loop, and participants have vehicle access every 8 miles. This free race is limited to 50 runners and requires each participant to supply their own aid and nutrition; crew members, pacers, and trekking poles are permitted. Sign-in occurs 30 minutes before the 6 a.m. start.
