Mayor's Run for the Trails 5K + Kids Fun Run 2026

The race.

Mayor's Run for the Trails 5K takes place October 10, 2026, at Terra Park Amphitheater in Johnston, Iowa. The 5K run begins at 9:30 AM, with a kids' 100-meter dash for ages 2–5 and a 0.62-mile kids' run for ages 6–10 starting earlier. Packet pickup is available Friday, October 9, from 4–6 PM at Crown Point Community Center, or race morning starting at 8:30 AM. All participants receive finisher medals; t-shirts are included with registration through September 21. The 5K features age-group awards for both men and women across six categories (19 and under through 60+). Post-race refreshments include bagels, water, and fruit.
