Midway Shelter Winter Run / Walk ~ 5k, 10k and Kids Run 2026

The race.

The Midway Shelter Winter Run on December 5, 2026, in Alameda, CA, features 5K and 10K distances plus a half-mile kids run for ages 12 and under. The event starts at Harbor Bay Ferry Terminal on Bay Farm Island, with the 10K beginning at 8:30 a.m., the 5K at 8:45 a.m., and the kids run at 9:45 a.m. The courses follow an out-and-back format with the first half on Harbor Bay Road and the return on trails. Packet pickup occurs December 4–5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lauren's Closet in Alameda, with race-day registration opening at 7:30 a.m. Awards for the 5K and 10K are presented at 10 a.m. Finishers receive snacks and drinks, and ample parking is available at the Ferry Terminal. Proceeds benefit Midway Shelter, which provides emergency shelter for homeless women and children.
