The race.

Midwest OCR takes place September 19, 2026, in Marseilles, IL, offering three main race distances: a 5K (3.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles), and a three-lap variant called the Bearded Challenge. The event features 20+ to 30+ obstacles depending on distance, with competitive categories for elite racers, age groups, and non-competitive open divisions, plus a separate kids' course for ages 11 and under. All finishers receive a custom shirt, medal, and professional action photos at no extra charge. Competitive 10K racers must complete all obstacles within three hours to earn podium consideration; overall top three male and female finishers in the 10K Elite division receive cash prizes plus awards. The Bearded Challenge imposes a six-hour time window (9am–3pm) with mandatory final lap start by 1pm and finish by 3pm, awarding additional medal pieces for laps two and three.
