About the race
The race.
The Mighty Mile is a free 1-mile race for children ages 5 to 14, held on July 8, 2026, at Carman Ainsworth Middle School in Flint, Michigan. Four age-group waves start between 6:30 p.m. and 7:25 p.m., with the course beginning and ending on the school track and looping through school grounds. All participants receive a T-shirt, backpack, and finisher medal; results are electronically timed and posted immediately. Online registration is required before race day and is limited to 200 participants. Race-day packet pickup runs from 5:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the school track. The event is hosted by the Michigan Running Foundation to encourage youth running and activity.
