The race.
The Moonrise Bike Ride takes place September 11, 2026, in Ottawa, Kansas, featuring multiple distance options on the Flint Hills Trail State Park. Riders can choose routes of 40, 54, 74, 75, or 100 miles. The main event includes a chuckwagon dinner at Pomona Lake State Park, live bluegrass music, and a moonlit ride. An optional two-night campfire experience begins Friday afternoon with a social gathering in Council Grove, includes a 20-mile ride to a basecamp in Allen, Kansas, a 32-mile Saturday ride to Pomona Lake, and a Sunday return ride to Ottawa. Shuttle transportation is available for point-to-point riders departing from Council Grove, with limited spots available for registration.
