MVRRC Shoe4Africa 5K Championship & Kids 1-mile Championship (Cash Prize) 2026

The race.

The Moreno Valley Road Runners Club hosts the Shoe4Africa 5K Championship on September 12, 2026, at Lake Perris State Recreation Area Dam Area in Perris, California. The 5K features a USATF-certified, flat course closed to vehicle traffic with overall cash prizes ($150 for first place, $75 for second, $50 for third) and age group awards for males and females in eight categories from 12 and under through 70 and over. Kids' races include a free toddler dash (50 meters), races for ages 4–5 (200 meters) and 6–7 (300 meters) at $5 each, and an 8–12 championship mile at $5 with a $50 bonus for times under 6:00. The 5K entry is $20, with packet pickup and registration opening at 7:30 a.m. and the main race starting at 8:30 a.m. All finishers receive medals; the first 50 registered participants receive event t-shirts. Race day registration is available at the same fees.
