About the race

The race.

This 18-mile open ocean relay swim crosses Nantucket Sound from Eel Point on Nantucket to Edgartown Lighthouse on Martha's Vineyard, scheduled for July 22–24, 2026. Swimmers follow English Channel swimming rules for the crossing of challenging open water. The event is organized by A Long Swim and directed by English Channel swimmer Doug McConnell.
