About the race
The race.
The Nassau Police Running Club hosts this annual 5K run on August 17, 2026, in East Meadow, NY, to honor Nassau County Police officers who died in the line of duty. The event began in 1993 as a memorial to Officer Gary R. Farley and has continued each year to remember additional fallen officers. Proceeds from the race fund scholarships awarded to high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education who are active members of their school running clubs.
