Join us on Sunday, October 4, 2026! Help Neighborhood House "Scare Away Hunger" by participating in this one-of-a-kind fun run/walk! Scare Away Hunger is a unique, annual event that adds a creative twist to a traditional running event, while helping our community! Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and dress up their pets!* Proceeds from this event will help our neighbors facing food insecurity and during times of hardship. Whether you are a casual walker or a running enthusiast, join us in helping in Neighborhood House envision a community of neighbors helping neighbors on the path towards self-sustainability.

5K Run/Walk | $40/runner - you will receive

Family Fun Run/Walk | $15/person - you will receive:

Spectator Pancake Breakfast | $5/person - you will receive:

Packet Pick-Up Times: Friday, October 2nd: 4PM-7PM Pick-Up Location: Neighborhood House Main Office | 1720 South Livernois | Rochester

October 4th - Race Day Times: On-site Packet Pick Up 8:00-9:00AM 5k Run/Walk starts 9:00 am

Family Fun Run starts immediately following 5K race start **Children's activities available after Family Fun Run**

As you lace up for our 5K/family fun run, remember to bring a can of food with you on race day. Your donation will help stock the shelves of the Neighborhood House Food Pantry. One small can make a big difference – let's turn our steps into sustenance for those who need it most. Together, we can outrun hunger!

* Participants (and their pets) are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes! Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent. Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon. Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials. Costumes may not drag on the ground

**The race takes place rain or shine. Only severe weather and/or lightning will result in delay or cancelation**
