Oglebay 0.5k Beer Dash 2026

The race.

The Oglebay 0.5K Beer Dash takes place on October 5th, 2026 in Wheeling, WV as part of Oglebayfest weekend. Participants complete a 0.5-kilometer loop around Schenk Lake. Registration opens at 10:00 AM at the Rathskeller/Hess Shelter with a $20 entry fee, and the race starts at 11:00 AM. All participants receive two free beers, a souvenir mug, and awards are given for 1st through 3rd place in men's and women's divisions. Winners are determined by a combination of race time and remaining beer in their mug. A valid ID or driver's license is required; participants must be 21 to consume alcohol, though underage registrants receive a non-alcoholic beverage. The course is open to traffic and the event runs regardless of weather.
