The race.
The One Step Closer to the Cure Castaway 5K & S.S. Minnow Mile takes place September 12, 2026, in downtown Saint Petersburg, Florida. Participants can choose between a 5K run and a 1-mile walk or run option. The event benefits ovarian cancer awareness, patient support, and research through the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation. All participants receive a finisher medal, shirt, and post-race refreshments. A special Island Stiletto Dash component invites participants to walk in stilettos in solidarity with ovarian cancer patients. Island-themed costumes are encouraged.
