ORRRC Turkey Hunt Map & Compass Challenge 2026

The race.

The ORRRC Turkey Hunt Map & Compass Challenge takes place November 15, 2026, at George Rogers Clark Park in Springfield, Ohio. This 5K orienteering event starts at 2:00 PM with a two-hour time limit to locate as many controls as possible and return to the finish. Participants receive course maps, chip timing, and loaner compasses. Registration opens at noon, with optional practice courses and an introductory session available beforehand. Awards are presented to the top 50 finishers, with scoring based on five points per control found and one-point penalties per minute over the time limit. Current ORRRC members race free; non-members pay $5 (ages 15+) or race free (ages 14 and under).
