About the race
The race.
The Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon takes place on August 15, 2026, in Parkersburg, WV, starting at 8:00 a.m. from downtown (with a wheelchair division start at 7:50 a.m.). The half marathon course loops through the surrounding area before returning to finish on Market Street. Half marathon participants receive a tech shirt, finishers medal, pre-race pasta dinner on Friday evening, and a post-race pizza lunch. Packet pickup is available Friday, August 14 from 2–9 p.m. and Saturday morning from 6–7 a.m. at the Parkersburg Municipal Building. Awards for the half marathon will be presented at 12:30 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Parish Center.
