This event benefits the Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter and its Cupid Fund, which supports animals requiring specialized medical care. The 5K and 10K run/walk take place on a USATF-NJ certified flat course at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater, New Jersey on October 18, 2026. Participants can enter the 5K run/walk solo or with one or two dogs, and dogs must be current on vaccinations and start at the back of the group at 9:20 AM; registered dogs receive a goody bag. A kiddie dash for children ages 4 and under covers 25 yards with a 9:10 AM start time, and all participants receive a finisher prize. Overall and age group awards go to top finishers in the 5K; 10K awards include overall and age group categories. Registrants who sign up by September 15 receive a t-shirt or long-sleeve shirt.
