Rocky Mountain Road Runners organizes this October race in Aurora, Colorado on October 4, 2026, at Star K Ranch/Morrison Nature Center. Four distances are offered: 8 miles, 5 miles, 12K, and 5K. The 8-mile race uses a handicap start system with runners assigned staggered start times based on estimated finish pace, with starters spread over approximately 45 minutes beginning at 8:30am. The 5K race starts approximately 15 minutes after the first 8-mile starters. Both courses follow the Sand Creek path, which is mostly dirt and wide, on an out-and-back route with an uphill outbound leg and downhill return. Arrive 30-45 minutes early to collect your bib and warm up.
