About the race
The race.
The Rootrock MTB takes place October 17, 2026, at Briar Chapel in Chapel Hill, NC. Four distance options are offered: 5.5 miles, 12 miles, 17 miles, and 24 miles. The race starts and finishes at Great Meadow Park. Courses feature dirt trails, single-track with roots and rocks, and hill climbs. Post-race activities include food, music, a kids' race, and an awards ceremony with giveaways. Riders can register for both Rootrock MTB and the accompanying morning trail run to receive a special award and 10% discount on each event.
