The race.

Rough Cut MTB is a mountain bike race in Red Lodge, Montana on August 15, 2026, featuring three distances: 50 miles, 25 miles, and approximately 4 miles. The 50-mile course consists of two loops of the 25-mile route, which begins and ends at Red Lodge Mountain and includes singletrack, doubletrack, and brief paved sections through Custer Gallatin National Forest. The 4-mile option offers intermediate-level terrain with ongoing trail development by local volunteers. Race start times are 7 a.m. for the 50-mile distance, 8 a.m. for the 25-mile distance, and 10 a.m. for the 4-mile distance. The event supports Red Lodge Bike Center and Beartooth Trails, two nonprofit organizations. Registration and check-in occur Friday, August 14 from 6 to 8 p.m., with location to be confirmed.
