About the race

The race.

The RTC Open Water Swim takes place Monday, July 6, 2026, at Robious Landing in Midlothian, VA. Swimmers choose between a 1-mile or 1500-yard distance, with all participants departing from the dock at 6:05 pm. Registration closes at 3:00 pm the day of the event. Swimmers must arrive by 5:45 pm for the safety briefing and check-in, and are required to wear a swim buoy and bright swim cap; a limited number of buoys and caps are available to borrow. All participants must be at least 18 years old. After swimming, participants must sign out; those who do not sign out will have their emergency contact called.
