About the race
The race.
The RTC Open Water Swim takes place Monday, August 10, 2026, at Robious Landing in Midlothian, VA. Participants can swim 1 mile or 1,500 yards, with all swimmers departing at 6:05 p.m. from the dock. Arrival by 5:45 p.m. is required for the safety briefing and sign-in. Registration closes at 3 p.m. the day of the event; cancellations after that time should be made by contacting the swim lead. Swim buoys and bright caps are mandatory. Volunteers are needed for kayak support (must be 18+, with kayaks and safety gear provided by RTC), SUP support, swim angels, and trailer pulling.
