About the race

The race.

RTC Open Water Swim takes place Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Robious Landing in Midlothian, VA. Members participate in either a 1-mile or 1500-yard swim, with all swimmers departing at 6:05 pm from the dock. Participants must arrive by 5:45 pm for the safety briefing and check-in, and a swim buoy and bright swim cap are required for all swimmers. Registration closes at 3 pm on the day of the event, and all participants must be at least 18 years old. Swimmers sign out after completing the swim; those who do not sign out will have their emergency contact called by the Swim Lead.
