The race.
Run the River for Respect is an officially timed 5K race held on September 27, 2026, at Heritage Harbor in Ottawa, IL, with an 8 AM start time. In-person registration opens at 6:45 AM and closes at 7:45 AM. Registration fees are $30 before August 27, $35 through September 12, $40 through September 12, and $45 on race day. Participants who register by September 12 receive an exclusive race t-shirt. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Illinois. The race welcomes runners, joggers, and walkers of all ability levels.
