About the race
The race.
Runnin' for Rescues is a 5K and 10K event held Saturday, November 21, 2026, in Boaz, Alabama, benefiting Second Chance Shelter, a no-kill dog rescue organization. Both distances start and finish at Boaz Recreation Center (400 Elizabeth Street) with water stations along the certified course. Finisher medals are awarded to all participants, and first, second, and third place prizes are given in each age group (12 & under through 70 & over, divided by gender). Register by October 25, 2026, to guarantee a race shirt and medal. The race runs rain or shine with no refunds; packet pickup details will be announced.
