The race.

Save Your Breath 5K takes place on October 18, 2026, in Augusta, Maine, benefiting Free ME from Lung Cancer. The 5K course is an out-and-back route along the rail trail from the Y to Hallowell. Participants can compete in a live, chip-timed event or choose a virtual option to complete the race on their own schedule. A timed walk division is available for walkers who register specifically for that category and receive official race bibs. All finishers receive a medal, and event t-shirts are provided to those registered by September 18. The award ceremony and silent auction follow the race at the YMCA, with awards going to present winners only. Registration discounts are available for running club members, seniors, veterans, and students, with fundraisers raising $150 or more eligible for free entry.
