The race.
Shark Week Showdown offers five race distances at Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land on August 22, 2026: a Kids Dash for ages 10 and under, a 1-mile option, a 5K (3.11 miles), a 10K (6.22 miles), and a 50-meter distance. The Kids Dash begins at 6:55 AM with the main races starting at 7:00 AM, following packet pickup from 5:30 to 6:40 AM. All runners receive race tees, and finisher medals are awarded for the 1-mile, 5K, and 10K distances. The 5K and 10K are chip-timed and feature age-group awards across 14 categories (10 and under through 70+), plus overall and Masters (40+) awards. Aid stations and music at the start and finish line support participants throughout the course.
