The race.

The Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66 series concludes at Stop 18 on September 16, 2026, in Granite City, Illinois, with a 6.6-kilometer run/walk starting at 6 PM at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. This historic bridge marks the border between Illinois and Missouri along Route 66. Participants receive a custom bib, a Route 66 charm to add to an official series medal, and access to a post-run community celebration. Optional event shirts are available for purchase during registration. A pre-race celebration begins at 4 PM, and runners can join a 2.1-mile shared segment with Enric Casacuberta, whose solo Route 66 run raises awareness for ALS. The event benefits ALS awareness and Casacuberta's Route 66 mission.
