Sorghum Day - John Lively Memorial 5k Run 2026

The race.

The John Lively Memorial 5K Run takes place on October 24, 2026, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, as part of the Wewoka Sorghum Festival. The USATF-certified 5K course starts and finishes at the Seminole Nation Museum at 6th Street and Wewoka Avenue. Pre-registration costs $30, with race-day registration at $35; the first 50 entrants receive race t-shirts. Top 3 overall male and female finishers earn trophies, while top 3 male and female finishers in each USATF age group (through 70 and over) receive medals. After the race, participants can enjoy festival activities including craft and food booths, a parade, car show, and demonstrations of sorghum processing at the museum grounds.
