The race.

Sound the Alarm 5K is a 3.1-mile out-and-back race on Madison Pike through historical Independence, Kentucky, with elevation changes under 45 feet. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. on September 26, 2026, following opening ceremonies at 8:10 a.m. Packet pickup occurs Friday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Tri-State Running Company in Edgewood, Kentucky, with race-morning pickup available from 7:15 to 8:00 a.m. at the race site. Participants receive t-shirts and swag bags with registration. Overall prizes go to the top three finishers by gun time for men and women; age-group awards are given by chip time across categories from Under 15 through 65 and older. Proceeds benefit Supporting Heroes, an organization providing emergency financial assistance to families of first responders killed in the line of duty.
