Steel City 12 Hour Run & Ruck 2026

The race.

The Steel City 12 Hour Run & Ruck takes place August 1–2, 2026, at Smith Park in Middletown, Ohio, running from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Participants complete as many loops as possible of a 1.52-mile flat paved course around the park. Entry is $60, with optional race shirts available for $25 (order deadline July 10). The event welcomes ages 16 and up, with those under 18 requiring a guardian. An aid station at the start/finish provides water, electrolyte drink, vegetable soup, bacon at midnight, coffee at 3 a.m., and donuts at 5 a.m. Hand-crafted finisher awards go to those completing marathon, 50K, 50-mile, or 100K distances by foot or ruck (minimum 25-pound pack). Race proceeds benefit Art Central Foundation, with 100% of shirt sales donated to the nonprofit.
