About the race

The race.

The Strider Mile takes place on August 8, 2026, at Greenbrier Christian Academy in Chesapeake, VA. The event features a one-mile track race, a 400-meter children's race for ages 5 and under, and a 4K distance medley relay option. The mile race begins at 8:00 AM with participants assigned to heats based on predicted times. One aid station provides water and replacement drinks during the race, with post-race beverages and food from Panera available to participants and volunteers. Awards go to the top three overall finishers, masters divisions by gender, 10-year age groups, race walk divisions, and relay teams. Online registration closes August 1st at $25 for adults and $15 for ages 18 and under; club membership discounts of $5 are available through 9 PM on August 7th.
