About the race

The race.

The Struthers School Foundation hosts a 5K race on July 4, 2026, in Struthers, Ohio, starting at 11:00 a.m. from the corner of 5th Street and Rita Drive. The 3.1-mile course follows the Struthers 4th of July Parade route. Race day registration and packet pickup begin at 9:00 a.m. The 5K is $25.00 with processing fees; Struthers City School students who register at the Board of Education Office by June 30 run free. Participants who register by July 1 receive a shirt. The race is chip-timed by GCXC Racing. A kids fun run of one-half mile, named the Kristy Taaffe Kids Fun Run, starts at 11:45 a.m. for children age 4 and older, beginning and ending at the same location. Kids fun run registration costs $15.00 online or is free for enrolled Struthers students registering at the school board office by June 30. Pizza is provided to all participants after both races.
