Summer Sizzler- Des Moines 2026

The race.

The Summer Sizzler takes place in Des Moines on August 23, 2026, offering four distance options: 1 mile (untimed), 3.1 miles, 6.2 miles, and 9.3 miles. All registered participants receive a custom bib, designer shirt, and finisher medal. The 1-mile event is untimed; the other distances include chip timing with live results and awards. Finishers enjoy complimentary refreshments and photos. Registration must be completed by midnight on the Thursday two weeks before race day to guarantee a shirt. Youth participants age 12 and under pay reduced pricing for the 3.1-mile and 6.2-mile distances. A separate kids' dash for ages 10 and under is also available, with optional swag; participation is free without merchandise.
