Swim to the Moon Open Water Swim Festival 2026

Swim to the Moon Open Water Swim Festival takes place August 16, 2026, in Gregory, MI, featuring six distance options: 825 yards, 1.2 miles, 2.4 miles, 5K, 10K, and 15K. The 5K begins at Patterson Lake at North Star Reach and finishes at Halfmoon Lake Beach, passing through five lakes in the Pinckney Recreation Area. The 10K starts at Halfmoon Lake Beach, extends to the 5K starting point, and returns to Halfmoon Lake Beach. The 15K starts at Patterson Lake, reaches Halfmoon Lake Beach, returns to Patterson Lake, and finishes at Halfmoon Lake Beach. The shorter distances (825 yards, 1.2 miles, and 2.4 miles) start and finish at Halfmoon Lake Beach. All participants have access to special needs bags at designated locations. The event benefits North Star Reach, a camp serving children with serious medical conditions. The race is USMS-sanctioned with a $20 USMS one-event fee included in entry; annual USMS members receive a $20 deduction.
