The Ascent Red River Gorge 5K & 10K Trail Races 2026

The race.

The Ascent Red River Gorge 5K & 10K Trail Races take place on July 11, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at Natural Bridge Campground in Slade, Kentucky. Runners can choose between a 5K or 10K distance on trail courses located on private property. Both races offer finishers medals, commemorative t-shirts (while supplies last), and awards for the top three male and female overall finishers in each distance. Race day packet pickup runs from 6:30–7:45 a.m., with advance pickup available Friday, July 10 from 3:00–6:00 p.m. at the campground pavilion. Online registration closes July 10 at midnight, with no race day registration available. A 4-hour time limit applies to both distances. Participants ages 12–18 receive special pricing of $20 and a swag item. Post-race amenities include food from Bigfoot Burgers Food Truck and free race photos.
