The Burke Whitaker Pig Tournament is an annual community basketball event held in memory of Burke Whitaker, created to honor his joyful spirit and unwavering belief that having fun is the most important thing.
The tournament brings together friends, family, and the Chapel Hill community for a day filled with connection, laughter, and friendly competition — all while raising funds to assist families with critical, unmet expenses during the time their child undergoes treatment at UNC Children's Hospital.
This event is a tribute to Burke’s legacy and a way to support others facing challenges similar to those Burke and his family experienced during his fight with brain cancer. The Pig Tournament is more than a game — it’s a celebration of life, love, and community.
