The Captain's 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile 2026

The race.

The Captain's 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile takes place November 14, 2026, at McCurry Park in Fayetteville, Georgia. The 5K starts at 9:00 a.m. and the 1-mile event starts at 9:45 a.m., with both beginning and ending in the park's main lot at 180 McDonough Road. The 5K is a USATF-certified course that qualifies for the Peachtree Road Race; the 1-mile course runs out-and-back on paved paths within the park. Registration fees range from $20–$25 early bird for the 1-mile ($35 day-of) to $25–$35 for the 5K ($45 day-of), with virtual 5K participation available at $35. All participants receive t-shirts when registered by October 24. Awards go to top three overall finishers and age-group winners across multiple categories (10-under through 70+). Proceeds benefit the Thomas "T.J." Jefferson Foundation, which provides scholarships to high school seniors and undergraduates in Coweta and Fayette counties.
