About the race
The race.
The Cheyenne Mountain Run takes place on August 15, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, inside Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Participants can choose from three trail races: a 25K mountain challenge with elevation gain of approximately 3,450 feet, a 10K trail race, or a 5K run/walk. All races start at 7:00 AM from Limekiln Trailhead with staggered starts by distance and ability, using chip timing. The 25K has a cutoff time of 8:45 AM at Dixon Saddle and closes at noon at the finish line; the 10K and 5K have earlier closures. Aid stations are provided on the courses, though runners must carry their own hydration. Trekking poles are not permitted. Race proceeds benefit Friends of Cheyenne Mountain State Park, a nonprofit organization.
