The Derby 50k 2026

The race.

The Derby 50K takes place November 28, 2026, in Ellerbe, NC, featuring a 50-kilometer distance. The course starts and finishes at the Derby Community Building, consisting of three loops totaling 31.5 miles over rolling hills on asphalt and dirt roads marked with yellow arrows, run counter-clockwise and open to traffic. Race bibs serve as packets and meal tickets; pickup begins at 7:00 a.m. race morning at the Derby Community Building. Finishers receive custom medals, and first-place male and female runners receive special awards, with separate awards for first local male and female. A free spaghetti lunch including salad, drink, cake, banana pudding, and pie is provided to runners; vegetarian and vegan sauce options are available. Registration closes November 23rd or upon reaching capacity on a first-come, first-served basis with no waitlist. Participants are asked to bring dog or cat food to support the Richmond County Animal Advocates, with a donation van onsite.
