The Great Donut Challenge is a 5K run or walk on September 5, 2026, starting and finishing at Fleet Feet Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. The event benefits Hero to Hero, a nonprofit supporting veterans' transition to civilian life and first responder careers. Participants navigate three donut stations along the street course, drawing cards at each stop to determine whether they eat, carry, or skip donuts. Top three male and female finishers receive HOKA prizes. Race-day check-in opens at 7:30 a.m., with the race starting at 8 a.m. Early bird registration ($30) closes August 27 at 11:59 p.m. and includes a complimentary t-shirt; standard registration ($35) closes September 5 at 8 a.m. or at 250 registrants, whichever comes first. Walkers and children running with a parent or guardian are welcome. Gluten-free donuts are available upon request.
