About the race

The race.

The Independence 1 Mile Beer Run takes place on June 28, 2026, in Kill Devil Hills, NC, hosted by The OBX Running Company at Outer Banks Brewing Station. This adult-only event (21+) is limited to 125 participants and features a beer mile format with alternating ¼-mile running segments and beverage stations. Registration and check-in run from 10–11 AM at the restaurant backyard. Entry is $48 and includes a T-shirt and backyard party. Prizes go to the fastest male and female finishers, and a costume contest awards the most creative American Independence-themed outfit.
