About the race
The race.
The Iron Horse Half Marathon, 12K, and 5K takes place October 11, 2026, in Midway, Kentucky. Participants can choose from three distances: a half marathon, 12K, or 5K. All finishers receive a technical running shirt with custom artwork, a personalized bib, a finisher medal, a custom sticker, and free access to race photos. Age group awards are presented. Packet pickup is available October 7–10 at various John's Run/Walk Shop locations, with packet shipping available for out-of-town runners. Pre-race deadlines include bib transfers and event transfers by September 28, virtual event switches by October 4, and deferrals to 2027 by October 9. A shakeout run is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at 9:30 a.m.
