The McNeese Cowboy Club 5k Gallop & Kids 1K Round Up Fun Run 2026

The race.

The 10th annual McNeese Cowboy Club Gallop takes place October 10, 2026, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, benefiting the McNeese Track and Field and Cross Country programs. Participants can choose between a 5K road race on a flat loop course encompassing the McNeese Athletics and main campus, or a 1K kids fun run. The 5K also offers a virtual option allowing runners to complete the race between October 5–10 on a course of their choice and submit results by midnight October 10. Race day begins with packet pickup and registration from 6:30–7:45 a.m. at the MSU Alumni Pavilion, with the pre-race meeting at 7:55 a.m. and the race starting at 8:05 a.m.; awards will be presented at 10:00 a.m. Packet pickup is also available October 9 from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at House of Sole. Performance shirts are guaranteed for those registered by September 23. Age group awards are offered for the 5K across seven categories, and all 1K finishers receive recognition.
