The race.
The Trail Run At Indian Lake takes place October 3rd, 2026, in Cross Plains, Wisconsin, offering two distances: a 5.8K short course and a 10.5K long course. Both races begin at 9:00 AM from Indian Lake County Park, featuring terrain that transitions from wetland prairie paths to forested trails with hills characteristic of the Driftless Region, including sections along the Ice Age Trail National Scenic Trail. Participants receive a swag item selected from TRAIL-branded merchandise including running socks, gloves, beanies, caps, and technical t-shirts. The event operates cup-free at aid stations; runners must bring their own hydration containers. Packet pickup occurs during race week at Movin' Shoes and on race morning starting at 7:30 AM. Awards and raffle drawings follow each course finish, accompanied by live music and food. A kids run starts at 8:30 AM. All proceeds benefit Friends of Indian Lake's partnership with Dane County Parks.
