Tri The Illini 2026

The race.

Tri The Illini is a sprint triathlon held September 27, 2026, in Champaign, Illinois. The event includes a 300-meter pool swim at an outdoor 50-meter pool, a 14-mile bike course, and a 5-kilometer run across the UIUC campus. The race starts and finishes at the Activities and Recreation Center. Registration closes at 11:59 PM on Friday, September 25. Packet pickup occurs Saturday, September 26, from 3:00–6:00 PM at Body N' Sole in Savoy, and Sunday, September 27, from 6:15–7:30 AM at the ARC. The race begins at 8:00 AM, with a mandatory pre-race meeting at 7:40 AM. Finishers who register by September 12 are guaranteed a race shirt; otherwise shirts are distributed first-come, first-served at packet pickup while supplies last. The event is USA Triathlon sanctioned.
