About the race
The race.
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Alpena honors first responders and remembers September 11, 2001. Participants can run or walk the 5K distance on September 12, 2026. Packet pickup occurs Friday, September 11th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Alpena Bandshell, or Saturday morning starting at 8:00am. Online registration closes Saturday at 9:30am, with day-of registration available at 8:00am for an additional $5 fee. Water stations will be available along the route and at the bandshell. The event benefits the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which supports first responders and military personnel.
