The race.
The VC Hornet Hustle takes place on August 29, 2026, in Valley Center, Kansas, with races beginning at 8 a.m. at Valley Center Intermediate School. Five events are offered: a 5K road race looping through Valley Center (timed, ages 12+), a 2-mile road race looping through Valley Center (timed, ages 12+), a 1-mile run/walk on VCIS grounds open to all ages, a 440-yard fun run for kindergarten and first graders, and a 50-yard dash for pre-K participants. All registrations completed by August 7, 2026, receive a Hornet Hustle T-shirt. Food trucks will be available. Proceeds benefit the five Valley Center schools equally.
