The race.

The Veterans 5K Run & Walk, presented by Eldridge Roofing, takes place November 7, 2026, at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois. This USATF-certified event benefits the Veterans Drop-In Center and includes both a standard 5K and a 5K Ruck Division requiring participants to carry a weighted backpack. Registration costs $35 for adults and $15 for children 17 and under, with online registration closing November 6 at midnight. Finishers receive dog tag awards; overall male and female winners earn $100, veteran and masters category winners receive $50, and age group placements (0–80+) earn medals. Guaranteed race shirts require registration by September 25; hoodies are available for purchase at packet pickup and race day.
