About the race
The race.
The West Concord Wife Carrying Competition takes place July 25, 2026, in West Concord, Minnesota. Teams of two compete on a just-under-300-yard obstacle course featuring both dry obstacles (climbing over or under objects) and wet obstacles. Competitors may carry their partner using the Estonian carry, piggyback, or fireman's carry method. Teams race head-to-head in heats, with winners advancing until two teams remain to compete for a cash prize. Participants must be 18 or older. Both partners must register and sign waivers, with an additional waiver signed in person at the event.
